[Trendspotter: Balenciaga Egyptofunk Collection F/W 2012 + Mirrored Sunglasses]

It's not an unusual thing when some fashionistas are spotted sporting the same outfit or accessories.  At least it's nothing to be worry about or ashamed of, according to the guardian of fashion Anna Dello Russo in her lesson #6: "Somebody wearing your same outfit? Wonderful! You did the right choice" *here*

Well, during the fashion weeks of Spring/Summer 2013 collection, some noted fashionistas seem to generate the same fondness towards these two futuristic-themed pieces: the Balenciaga Egyptofunk Collection F/W'12 and the mirrored sunglasses, as they keep getting caught on camera donned in different styles.

[Balenciaga Egyptofunk Collection F/W 2012]
The Balenciaga Egyptofunk galactic tees and sweatshirts sell out in a speed of light, leaving one with no "on-a-second-thought" option ...either get it now or never.  It seems that Nicholas Ghesquire's mission on bringing back the 80's sci-fi geek attire in a space-y balenciaga chic way is quite a hit, seeing from the positive signs shown by the fashion universe.
And here they are, energized in the fashion weeks by these fabulous fashionable femmes...

[Mirrored Sunglasses]
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" is what you might hear yourself say as you catch your own reflection on this nothing but a pair of mirrored sunglasses.
Every fashionable being that walks this earth has started to proclaim their love (again) to the reflective nature of mirrored sunglasses since last season, as they were re-introduced by Rag & Bone and Trussardi in their S/S'12 collections.
Up til this season, the reign of this eyewear still continues, proven by snap after snap of pictures of its loyal devotees, who have been fashionably sporting their very own pair of mirrored sunnies from one fashion week to another.
Well, what's not to love from these double-agent shades (UV protector/Mirror 911)?

P.S.: check out my NYFW and MFW posts for more looks on this eyewear

So, for you who are never gonna lay a hand on this $285 Balenciaga t-shirt *here* or this $3,150 Balenciaga sweatshirt *here* (given the fact that some of them are already sold out) and not willing to justify for a $350 Rag&Bone mirrored sunnies, stow you worries.  You can always refer to them as inspiration, fashion is about "inspire and be inspired"

[Channeling Lagerfeld at (X) S.M.L Annual Show 12/13]

The post title says it all...

So, on my last post, I told you about the event I attended last week, (X) S.M.L Annual Show 12/13.  And here are the details of the outfit I wore that à la mode day

I'm channeling my inner-rebellious-self with a hint of denim (inspired by Chanel Resort 2013 Collection) and a bit of Mr. Lagerfeld here and there.

The idea derived from this very 1st tweed jacket piece of mine, which I've been dying to wear...
Zara Tweed Jacket with Studded Opening (so in love with this )

And this half-palm leather glove, which I've been dying to wear as well.
(M)Phosis Half-Palm Leather Glove

Tweed Jacket - Zara/Denim Shirt - Kimchi Blue/Lace Duster Long Cardigan - Sparkle&Fade/Leather Shorts - Eann 9.1/Strappy Heels - Marco/Half-palm Leather Glove - MPhosis/Watch - Swatch/Ring - Topshop/Neon Bracelet - H&M/Kelly Double Tour - Hermes/Spiked Bracelet - Accesoria Nerve/Chanel Mademoiselle Bowling Bag
I was wearing a Make Up Forever Rouge à Lèvres 203 lipstick

I'm so obsessed with Posh's side braid that I decided to incorporate it to my look, but since I'm no Ken Paves, this is how it turned out.
sporting all my DIYs bracelets: the green and the silver friendship bracelets, and the jade blings bracelet
I kinda become addicted to this whole DIY thingy.

Ciao

[Nail's Diary: Michelle Obama's (DNC Speech 2012) Nails]

This is it...the manicure that had "got itself a great amount of votes" overnight when Michelle Obama delivered her speech at the Democratic National Convention few nights ago
Not only because it accessorized the FLOTUS' Tracy Reese pink dress perfectly, but also it had this unique shade of gray that rose a brouhaha from the beauty-obsessed viewers (each come up with speculation and declaration of the nail polish used)

It's been officially confirmed that this shade of gray is Artistic Nail Design's Colour Gloss in "Vogue", a soak-off gel color that will be soon available at nail salon only retailing at $15.95 a bottle.
Artistic Nail Design describes the shade as a gray-lilac iridescent.
(P.S.:The soak-off gel polish must be cured with a UV light.  It is, however, long-lasting and chip-free)

This in-trend "non-color" color has piqued my interest, since I'm a fan of any shade of gray myself (especially Fifty, if you know what I mean #smirk) and it's an apt color for fall nails
So, I tried to re-create this look using nail polishes I have, given that the so-called gel polish is not yet available and I'm not a big fan of gel polish anyway.

And FYI, I just got my China Glaze Recycle, so I dun wanna spend another bucks on another shades of gray cos I've had quite already.

>> 2 coats of China Glaze Recycle + 1 thin coat of Essie St. Lucia Lilac <<

Hope this super simple tutorial helps

[Nails Diary: Patriotic Nails in the 2012 London Olympics]

2012 London Olympics Beauty Fact:
There is a pop up nail art salon conveniently set up (by
celebrity manicurist Sophy Robson and P&G) in the Olympic Village, where the Olympians can go to get any one of 200 different nail designs.

Beauty knows no bound, indeed.
Well, isnt it exciting watching these female Olympians using nail art to make their own beauty statement as well as express their patriotism ♥
And, what's a better way to flaunt a medal than by holding it up with a perfectly manicured hand #sotrue

Inspired by these patriotic ladies and the upcoming Independent's Day of Indonesia (Aug 17th), I decided to create my own patriotic beauty statement.
NYX White - China Glaze Electrify - Sally Hansen Salon Manicure All Fired Up

Nothing more distinct used as a nation's ID than the nation's flag itself.
So, having Sangsaka Merah Putih (the name of our beloved Indonesia Flag *here*) as the theme,  I have all my nails (except the one in ring finger) french manicured with the Flag.
As for the ring finger nail, I used my favorite Electrify from China Glaze the Capitol Collection as a base to my red&white triangle, to create this fiery torch-light effect. Why? To portray the patriotic spirit

P.S.: I used the help of tape to create the french manicure and triangles, for a neat finish

Hope you enjoy this tutorial...
Ciao and happy Independent's Day, Indonesia

[Nails Diary: Outlined Nails (O.P.I Just Spotted The Lizard)]

Cant help but notice this outlined nails trend that keeps popping up around.  Well I  must admit that I didnt have immediate fondness towards this trend, but curiosity crept up on me that I brought myself to actually try it.

And...I got deceived by the simplicity of it. It was actually hard to outline nails, especially when you have no nail liner or special dotting tools.
But worry not, for there are many ways lead to Rome
Thanks to my used eye-liner brush, I cud successfully outlined these nails.
Yay to "recycling" ♥

I suggest you to use the pen eye liner, cos it gives more control while you outline.  And you can also use your eye-liner directly instead of using it with nail polish (but, wudnt it be more costly?)
Well, pen marker is also another option. But I personally pick the eye-liner brush cos it resembles the strokes paint brush produces.  The strokes are somehow nicer and more suave.

As for the nail polish, I finally got my hand on the O.P.I Just Spotted The Lizard (from Amazing Spider Man) that I've purchased while ago. It's definitely a perfect dupe to my wishlist, Chanel's Peridot, at a more compromising price :p  And many reviews mentioned that it lasts longer than Chanel. What more can I say but "BUY!" *tee-hee*

The theme, well, is very obvious. In case you guys are wondering what have I drawn on my middle finger there, well it's a spider web *I've tried my best*.
So it's like "Spider Man captures the Lizard" :p

I'm thinking about givin this "outlined nails" another try, a pastel nail polish+neon outlined ♥  Cos black outline gives out this dirty fingers' feeling :( but however it does intensify the nail polish color tho'

Well, good luck givin it a try girls! And cant wait for The Amazing Spider Man: Garfield Stone duo ♥♥♥
