[Beauty Diary: Dry Me X Lash & Wink Beauty Quick 30 Minutes Makeover]

The MAKEOVER is on!

Calling all beauty enthusiasts, especially you aficionados of falsies.  Be prepared to have your lashes ready for some fierce batting and winking cos' I have an exciting beauty testimony to report today.

So, a couple weeks ago, I got invited to this beauty event "BEAUTY QUICK 30 MINUTES MAKEOVER" held by Dry Me hair salon and Lash & Wink to celebrate the launch of Lash & Wink faux lashes (yes ladies, there is a new falsies brand in town that you MUST try)
Lovely decoration by The Swan Design & Decoration

Scrumptious sweet treats by DOLCI Dessert
(I recommend the coffee tiramisu, it's just superb)

The event was started with an introduction to Lash & Wink falsies and followed by a smokey eye make-up tutorial by Marcella Widita.  Afterwards, we were treated to the Beauty Quick 30mins Makeover by Dry Me and Lash & Wink team ♥
SAPPHIRE - AMETHYST - EMERALD
(both Sapphire and Amethyst aim for soft and natural looking lashes, while Emerald mimics an alluring and sultry looking lashes with its sexy cat-eye shape that flares out at the end)

 MOONSTONE - RUBY - ALEXANDRITE
(Moonstone helps you achieve that sweet dolly look with maximum length effect to make your eyes pop, while both Ruby and Alexandrite with their boldness and volume give you a classy touch to accentuate your glamorous night look or simply to complement your sexy smokey eye make-up)

Step by step smokey eye make-up tutorial by Marcella Widita with various tips in applying your eye shadow to falsies.

For you who have read my previous post about my experience at Dry Me hair salon will notice the reason behind the event's name.  The words quick and 30mins have been Dry Me's signature as they offer exceptionally quick hair wash n' blow service.
But for this Beauty Quick event, they added another element of beauty that was make-up to their quick 30mins service, in collaboration with the Lash & Wink team.
And once again, Dry Me together with Lash & Wink had proven to me that excellent quality can be delivered in such short time.  I had my hair washed, blown, and my eyes enhanced with Lash & Wink premium falsies in less than 30mins.
Waiting for my turn for the Beauty Quick 30mins Makeover, so excited!!!

Inside the goodies bag (besides a cup of delish Dolci tiramisu and various vouchers from sponsors) is a box contains 3 pairs of reusable Lash & Wink assorted falsies (Sapphire, Moonstone, Alexandrite) and a bottle of falsies adhesive.
I love how the box comes with instructions in applying the falsies, it is really helpful for falsies noobs.  And I'm such a sucker for the watercolor-themed packaging, it is so pretty.

I decided to try the soft and natural looking Sapphire falsies for my first time.  Who knows a pair of falsies can make such a difference.  And the most important part was they were so comfortable that I didnt even feel like wearing falsies.
Thank you Noi for putting on these pretty falsies on me

The ladies around me who were enjoying their makeover.
(Shout out to this lovely blogger on the right, Dea Hamdan, read her experience at this event on her blog

Voilà! This is how I turned out after the 30mins makeover, rocking the Susan Straight and Sapphire falsies All ready for my Saturday night out!

Spring of 2014 has welcomed yet another nature colors to its palette: green, the light and serene version of this inspiriting hue.  And like its pastel confidante, placid blue, this light green offers the same tranquility and familiarity, which makes it a great as a stand alone color and to mix n' match with other colors in the spectrum.

Simply rock matching top n' bottom of this shade, which are totally in the hype must-try looks this season (see 3.1 Phillip Lim, Prabal Gurung, and Calvin Klein) or blend it in with another pastels or neutrals to maintain its tranquil hint (here, here, here, and here

[Channeling: Monochrome Emma Watson]

Sensing a pattern with Emma Watson's style while in Madrid for Noah premiere.  The starlet was spotted in two different looks that shared 3 same keywords: monochrome, jumpsuits, and chic.

Casual Monochrome
Spotted when out and about on the street of Milan, Watson totally nailed the term effortlessly chic with her laid-back getup of current must-have items: overalls and slip-ons.  Working with her petite frame, Watson went with a fitted shirt and overalls instead of baggy ones and with a little trick up her trousers' hems to elongate her legs by showing a sliver of skin.

Classy Monochrome
For her Noah Madrid Premiere red (...or blue) carpet look, Watson took a 180〫〫turn with her look, stunning the crowd with a plunging monochrome jumpsuit from J Mendel.  While maintaining minimalism in the clothing department, Watson did some creative accessorizing in the beauty department.  Watson had these series of gold barrettes running along the side of her head in an arrow-like formation to keep her side-swept in place, which by the way not only complemented the plunging neckline perfectly but also added some cutting-edge punk touch.  And last but not least, a sultry note from the bordeaux lips shade completed the whole sexy in a classy way look.

[Color Code: Placid Blue]

February does not always have to be all about the sweet romantic pink.  How about making some room in your closet for this other pastel color called Placid Blue?  Which undoubtedly lives up to its name, as its soft blue hue imparts nothing but tranquility. (agree?)
Moreover, with the spring season approaching, there's no reason to not start embracing this light shade of blue that opens Pantone® Spring 2014 Fashion Color palette, and slowly make your transition into spring.

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®, suggests that this pastel is very adaptable, as we are so accustomed to seeing it as nature's background.  So, not only that we can see this color stands on its own for its picture-perfect calmness, but also as a neutral that can be creatively mixed with other colors in the spectrum.

Designers, such as the contemporary A.Wang and Barbara Bui to the high fashion Burberry, Marchesa, and Valentino, have also given their approval of this placid color through their Spring/Summer 2014 collections.

What's more with the recent street style of Autumn/Winter 2014 fashion weeks crowds, which shows how the crowds have successfully figured out this blue's clues.

Don a matching placid blue top and bottoms like what Jeanie Lee did and add some matching accessories in the same colors as well.  Or simply put a jacket of this hue over your monochrome articles, like Kate Foley and Eleina Welteroth did.

There's no absolute rule on how to and not to wear this placid hue, so be creative and have fun!

[Hair Diary: Dry Me Hair Salon]

#alwaysready

You know what really grinds my gears?  That it takes ages just to get my hair washed and blew out at a hair salon...cos' the rate of women getting their hairs cut, colored, straightened, curled, treated, their nails done, their bits waxed, etc. is too damn high.  So, I've given up the idea of going to a hair salon for solely that purpose long time ago.
And since I'm all butterfingers when it comes to styling my own hair, I'm left with boring hairstyle.
(mazel tov to you who encounter zero problem styling your own hair at home)

However, just about last week, I bid my boring hair days goodbye.  I have found a hair salon that answers my 'cry for help': Dry Me Hair Salon

Dry Me new branch at Baywalk Mall, Pluit

For you who have the same problem as me, Dry Me is definitely the hair salon for you.
Why?  Because unlike any other hair salons, they specialize in exceptionally quick hair wash n' blow service.  They do not call it exceptionally quick for nothing.  In just 30 minutes, they will get your hair washed, blew out, and ready for action for only (wait for it) IDR 65.000

You can either choose the à la carte service or the Pick Me Up package for a head-to-hand experience, which includes hair spa, blow out, nail polish, and vitamin shot for IDR 250.000 (definitely gonna try this next time!)
The pricing for all services available at Dry Me are below...(for more detailed explanation on the services, please contact your nearest Dry Me)

I opted for the hair spa treatment on my first visit since I havent done any treatment for my coloured hair and because "I deserve some self pampering!" (yes ladies...repeat after me)

Hair Spa à la Dry Me using L'Oreal Hair Spa for a more hydrated, strong, and soft hair

The exceptionally quick blowout, mine was even less than 30 minutes. Thank you Dafa :)

An excellent service til' the end

And here's my final result...loving my now soft and hydrated hair and the Windy Wave look to the max. Thank you Dry Me, now I'm ready to roll!
