[Brunch Diary: Social House]

"God, I love brunch!" - Marshall Eriksen (How I Met Your Mother Season 2, Episode 5)

So, couple days ago, my sis and I decided to have brunch *it's her favorite meal of all time FYI*. We had 2 options at that time: Social House (SoHo) or Koi, rumor has it..both serve fantastic brunch. In consideration to the traffic (...and it's hard to live in hard to live in the city♪♫), we finally decided to go with our 1st option: SoHo.

We arrived there around 03:00 PM, and unfortunately brunch or "Breakfast Favorites" as they call it in SoHo was over after 3. We, especially me, felt so disappointed in the 1st place, since we especially went there to test the eggs benedict, we heard that it is the best eggs benedict in town and we were utterly tempted! However, our wishes to try SoHo's Eggs Benedict did come true ♥ *after some attempts* Therefore, we rated the service excellent *no wonder they charge 10% for it*

Smoke Salmon Eggs Benedict *We *

And we got buy 1 get 1 promo from HSBC credit card for "Social Hours" Menu Set :)

Tapas Sampler

Afternoon Tea Set

Homemade Grandma's Lemon Ice Tea *We *

In our opinion, the presentation for "social hours" menu set can be better, and for the taste itself..it was just okay. But we highly recommend u to try the eggs benedict and the homemade grandmas's ice tea, they were good as in good good *hype* Overall, the restaurant offers great atmosphere and it's a nice place to hang out day and night with a great view of the city.

Btw, I personally find the "to-go" box interesting :)

P.S. from my sis: Avoid the Hangover "Breakfast Favorites" menu.

*For more info, visit Social House Website

That day, I decided to go with boho look as I'm dying to take my new floral sheer kimono for a stroll. One thing I love bout summer kimono: chic yet comfortable.

At SoHo's wine cellar

Lace Top - Mom's vintage
Denim Shorts - Pull and Bear
Wooden Necklace - Accessoria Nerve *here*

Loewy will be my next target for brunch, so until next review :)

That was how I used to feel..these past year and a half since my last update. Do pardon me and these fingers of mine that were too lazy to type and this little brain of mine.
ACTUALLY
I'm just kidding, the true reason is my passion of blogging was on her vacation, so I couldnt blog without her existence *it's a she by the way*
Now that my passion of blogging has got back from her vacation, I can start blogging aga

Two days ago, I came across this 1 item that directly went in my summer 2011 must have items. So I was flipping thru Harper's Bazaar while enjoying my afternoon tea at Kaffeholic (PIK) *FYI it's a nice and cozy cafe*, and there it was

But my heart already fell for this beige color, the color is neutral..definitely will go with any outfits and personally wont accentuate my dumbo jumbo ankles. I bet it's gonna be like super comfy and super awesome *sub

[Broken and White]

"Oversize still, yet not way overtime."

Straw Hat - Quicksilver
Over sized Blazer - Zara
Brittle Gray Jumpsuit - Forever 21
Heels - Naning

Finally, yes finally..I'd got to wear this dreamy blazer of mine.

Found it on
April, bought it on June, wore it on October. Yeah gotta admit it, had quite a story with this blazer.

"So, what's the story behind it, Grace?"
Thank you for asking, and here's the story: *a two-way monologue =_=*

So I've mentioned about this blazer on my previous April post: [Oversize is not Overtime]
. And finally after 2 months of patience, the time that I'd been waiting for finally came: Zara Summer Sale, hurry got my ass to Zara.
However, my journey of getting this blazer was quite a disappointment, cos' every Zara I went in, turned out did not have either this model or the size.
Yet how did I get this blazer at the end? Gotta thank momma then, she was the one who found it, just the right model and the right size, on this one miraculous day while she was out with her friend. ;p
and it was on sale too fortunately, hmm..nice~
And again, same old story happened, couldn't find the right shoes to go with it. So I retained from wearing it until I found the perfect one, just didn't wanna ruin the whole concept :(
and yeah indeed I found the shoes, on Yahoo's auction TW, so I asked my friend,
lovely Triyana, to order it for me but I had to be patient for..another 3 months. *sigh*

*TARAAAA~*

and in the end, it was a happy ending story, I finally got it all on October, the 24th to be exact. Strolled it round the mall right away. *yay!*

*Happy Birthday Vonny ♥*

Heart this blazer so much, and still got another concept to go with this blazer but still in process of collecting all the items. So, just wait ;)

[Batik-Heritage of Indonesia]

"Mbatik manah - drawing a batik design on the heart."

On Oct. 2, Indonesia finally got the world recognition for one of its most significant unique culture- the culture of Batik.
To celebrate this significant achievement in Indonesia culture history, many of the Indonesians proudly wore Batik on the day of recognition by the UNESCO (which is acknowledged as the Batik Day now).

This recognition is major especially for Indonesia fashion industry. Indonesia designers are challenged to bring out different themes for this esthetically-high fabric, other than the traditional one. Not that the traditional look of Batik is out-to-date or boring, it still bears the exquisite heritage of Indonesian beauty.
However, designers ought to think outside the box of heritage beauty, what could be brought out of this traditional fabric which screams modern and sophisticated. By having various style of design in Batik will enrich our Batik culture, and also makes Batik more suitable for any kind of occasions, any generation which lead to growth in usage of Batik itself. Many Indonesian designers are into this issue nowadays. Some of my favorites are Kanaya Tabitha, Anne Avantie, and Oscar Lawalata. Check out Kanaya's heritage/batik collection, so chic..not bad for Indonesia designers *wink*

My classmates and I also participated wearing Batik in unison on Oct 2. This is what I threw on..

Big thanks to my dearest mom for providing all these fabulous vintage clothes
Cotton Batik - Mom's Closet
Acid-washed Denim Pencils - Mom's Closet

The more people wear Batik, the more preserved this culture. So, starts collecting Batik now, especially "Made in Indonesia" Batik :)

[MIKA, You're Inspirational!]

"You should be as free as you want."

--------------------------------
Mika - Good Gone Girl

--------------------------------

Who's the reigning "Queen" of Pop?
MI-KA!

Yes, the hell he's still reigning though it's been 2years since his 1st album "Life in Cartoon Motion".
Now finally he's back with his 2nd album that I've been dying to hear, "The Boy Who Knew Too Much".

MIKA brought this quite new different atmosphere to the music world, with his falsetto high-pitched Freddie Mercury sound and his creativity in making you feel all the colors there are in his music. Listening to Mika's songs really can balloon my spirit and make me see the reality in a more positive encouraging way.
Like what he conveys through his single on the 1st album "Big Girl, You Are Beautiful". This song really match the phrase "Big is Beautiful", and actually has been quite meaningful to me personally :)
Moreover, on his 2nd album with the single "We are Golden", again he encourages us through the his inspirational lyric to have more confident in ourselves, just be ourselves, no matter from which background we come from, we are all special- we are golden!

Though his style is sometimes considered "silly" but to me his music defined what I call the freedom to express yourself, without hesitation. He brings these fresh, cheerful, rosy songs that are ready to lighten up my dull days.
He cud be brown, he cud be blue, he cud be violet sky, he cud be purple, he cud be anything you like ;)
Thanks MIKA, I love you :)

I heart almost all of his songs, I could like go hyper listening to one track and suddenly turn emo on the next track. Really bring out all my emotion *lol*. By the way, these are my MOST faves:

Grace Kelly
Lollipop
Love Today
Happy Ending
Big Girl, You Are Beautiful
We Are Golden
Good Gone Girl
Blue Eyes
Lover Boy
Dr.John
By The Time

Have you had your MIKA's albums? If you haven't, better go get one or two or three or how many you like *lol*

P.S.: Buy the original album, stop piracy ;p

[The HangOver]

"Do they dream of mauling zebra or Halle Berry in her cat woman suit~"

--------------------------------
Ed Helms - Stu's Song
--------------------------------

One hilarious movie, don't you agree? ;)
I can't stop listening to the "Stu's Song", one short song made in the middle of mess with a tiger in the bathroom..how hilarious that can possibly be!? *rotflol*

This movie really kicks the laugh outta me no matter how many times I've watched it. Totally hype this movie because it's naturally funny, doesn't look like an act out to me. So entertaining, watching this movie really made my day..love it!
All the characters fascinate me in their own way, like Alan with all his ridiculous acts and thoughts (especially the way he stands carrying the cute baby..ahahahahah), and Stu with his song for sure and marriage with the stripper (Heather Graham rocks, what a beauty).
Gosh this movie is really funny in its own way, one movie that will definitely be on my "fave movies of all time" list.

"Alan Garner: You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack... it grew by one. So there... there were two of us in the wolf pack... I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, "Wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast! "

"Mr. Chow: [as Mr. Chow closes his car window slowly, his head trails the closing gap] Toodooloo mother fuckers!"

"Phil Wenneck: [his answering machine message] Hey, this is Phil. Leave me a message, or don't, but do me a favor: don't text me, it's gay."

"Alan Garner: You probably get this a lot. This isn't the real Caesar's Palace is it?
Lisa: What do you mean?
Alan Garner: Did, umm... did Caesar live here?
Lisa: No.
"

*rotflol*

TWO THUMBS UP for THE HANGOVER!

"
The Hangover is a funny movie, flat out, all the way through. Its setup is funny. Every situation is funny. Most of the dialogue is funny almost line by line."

[MidSummer Tea]

"I'm still waiting for my yellow teapot and my flying carpet~"

------------------------------------------------
Joker's Daughter - Yellow Teapot
------------------------------------------------

A cup of tea
dear in this midsummer night, with a little company of the summer breeze.

Finally, I've got my new tea set :)

Pretty yet energizing right!? Adore the color, suits my summer theme.
Came across this new tea set when I was wandering alone at the mall. Fell in love right at the first sight *aww*. Unfortunately
, it didn't come in a set, only the cups and saucers available. However I decided to take it, since fortunately I have these teapot and tray which match these little cute teacups in a great way if I may say. Yosh!

I'd completed my new tea set since two weeks ago actually, but just haven't got the chance to use it cos' my kinda hectic summer classes' schedule, seems like there wasn't any relax feeling with it.
And finally these days has come, where I can sit there, relax, enjoying my cup of tea with my new tea set without any burden to think of but my holiday. *Ah-ah-ahe!*

My yellow teapot and friends:
*arent't they cute!?

This tea ware inspired me of a little outing outfit for tea drinking ;)

*Denim Vest - Mom's Closet
*360 Yellow Skirt - Own handmade
*Lady Brooch - Mom's Closet
*Lashes - Shu Uemura

Have a nice summer holiday y'all..especially to those who joined me in summer classes, freedom guys! Ahey!
