I have a lot of fun today. First, I finally tasted the so called "recommended  red velvet" from Union.  And most of all, I have a sister to share it with ♥

I'll definitely come back again for the red velvet, but I'm not sure I can say the same for the food (esp. the duck confit).  As for the ambiance, I'd like to say that it feels like NYC somehow. Love the glass-house concept, make it real nice for taking pictures on a sunny day ♥

Hello jello...

been so busy lately, do pardon me for the late updates :)

my thesis is like crawling all over my head, forming these gloomy clouds over my days.

Seriously..."Thesis, y u no auto-finished!?"

But today, I'm givin myself a break to update this blog..hah finally, doin something I love ♪♫

So, I go to the nearest Starbucks for a change of mood.  And it does not fail me...as always. I just freakin love Starbucks!

After that, I have a little walk on the park to sew up my refreshing day.  It feels real good ♥

I'm feeling turquoise today...it's been my fave color for fall this year  ♥

[Brunch Diary: Loewy]

"Never leave well enough alone."

Dear brunch lovers, I'm back with another review of brunching out in Jakarta. Aye, it's Loewy this time :)

I picked out this restaurant cos I heard (or read somewhere) that this place offers great casual ambiance in the center of Jakarta city. And I do agree cos that was the first exact impression I got when I entered Loewy. Its décor gives me the feel of old-fashioned diner which conveys its cozy and comfortable atmosphere.

The variety of the brunch menu is not much and offered in a very simple and classic manner (no fancied things up, even for the F&Bs presentation). It's fine anyway.

And for the taste...(in my opinion)

I'm sorry to say that it was as plain as the presentation. We (my friends and I) had ordered as recommended, but they turned out just okay like in no memorable taste or what so ever. The same applies for its dinner menu (confessions from friends - Mr. and Mrs. X)

Read quite reviews mentioning the bad service, fortunately we didnt get that kind of treatment.

Despite the price and taste, Loewy is a nice spot for chillax-ing, especially at night. It turns out to be more like a bar in the evening, and I heard the drinks are quite good.

[Brunch Diary: Social House]

"God, I love brunch!" - Marshall Eriksen (How I Met Your Mother Season 2, Episode 5)

So, couple days ago, my sis and I decided to have brunch *it's her favorite meal of all time FYI*. We had 2 options at that time: Social House (SoHo) or Koi, rumor has it..both serve fantastic brunch. In consideration to the traffic (...and it's hard to live in hard to live in the city♪♫), we finally decided to go with our 1st option: SoHo.

We arrived there around 03:00 PM, and unfortunately brunch or "Breakfast Favorites" as they call it in SoHo was over after 3. We, especially me, felt so disappointed in the 1st place, since we especially went there to test the eggs benedict, we heard that it is the best eggs benedict in town and we were utterly tempted! However, our wishes to try SoHo's Eggs Benedict did come true ♥ *after some attempts* Therefore, we rated the service excellent *no wonder they charge 10% for it*

Homemade Grandma's Lemon Ice Tea *We ♥*

In our opinion, the presentation for "social hours" menu set can be better, and for the taste itself..it was just okay. But we highly recommend u to try the eggs benedict and the homemade grandmas's ice tea, they were good as in good good *hype* Overall, the restaurant offers great atmosphere and it's a nice place to hang out day and night with a great view of the city.

Btw, I personally find the "to-go" box interesting :)

P.S. from my sis: Avoid the Hangover "Breakfast Favorites" menu.
